The Gnesen Community Center, located 13 miles north of Duluth at 6356 Howard Gnesen Road, was erected in 1927 as the Gnesen School, closed as a school in 1981, and now houses the Gnesen Community Center. In 2020 the Gnesen Community Center became the hub of our community when the township office moved over from the old Town Hall located at 4011 W. Pioneer Road. The building is ADA accessible and has many great features including a gym, a full sized commercial style kitchen and several rooms for meetings or gatherings. Outside are two outdoor tennis/pickle ball courts, a playground, a nature playscape, 1.4 miles of unique hiking trails, a baseball field with dugouts, a 9 hole disc golf course, and a pleasure skating rink complete with a warming house.
